Smalls - Smalls hour
Smalls brought me back to create a film around their new Smalls Hour promotion, a drinks offer featuring a selection of cocktails and serves available throughout the promotion.
With the drinks already looking incredible and the restaurant providing such a strong setting, we decided to take the film beyond the bar and make use of the whole space.
My creative approach was to keep the camera locked off on a tripod as each drink was made, poured and served, keeping the focus firmly on the drinks and the process behind them.
I also wanted to capture the smaller moments that often go unnoticed cutting a lime, salting a glass, choosing the right glassware and the little details that go into preparing each drink.
These moments definitely helped give the film a sense of rhythm and brought the different drinks together into one cohesive piece.
I had a lot of fun in the edit too, taking care of the editing, colour grade and sound design. I wanted each action to feel clear and tactile, using sound to emphasise everything from the cut of a lime to the pour of a drink.
